Warning: This post has no reason or order to it. May just be my most random post yet, which probably describes my mindset the past couple days. A complete whirlwind.
School is almost finished for the semester. It's weird to think that what I once thought was impossible is actually turning out just fine. If the last 3 patients I have scheduled show up next week- I'll be one happy girl on December 9th, when clinic is over. I may just have to reward myself with a little Texas Road House or something, right? Steak and those heavenly rolls- yes please! But seriously, Heavenly Father has really, really blessed me this semester and answered so many of my prayers.
Christmas is on my mind. I cannot stop thinking about Christmas break- I'm just too excited. My uncle Steve and Grandma Turnbull will be coming up to the cabin with our family. Boise has been hit hard this winter with snow already. McKay had a snow day this week- when has that ever happened? I always prayed for a snow day growing up but never got one! hopefully it will stay and we will have a winter wonderland Christmas. I'll have to study for my big End of Year 1 Exam over the break, but I'm determined not to let that ruin my vacation. There are snowmen to be made, sledding to be done, goodies to be baked, decorations to be put up, Christmas trees to be cut and decorated, books to be read, fires to snuggle by- you get the picture.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving break, despite the awful driving weather. Tuesday night the roads were closed so we just decided to drive to Salt Lake, spend the evening with my grandmother and then we'd be able to get an early start on Wednesday morning. Bad idea- we hit the eye of the blizzard around the point of the mountain. Let's just say it was a complete whiteout for awhile, and we were inching along going about 5-10 mph going UPHILL, meaning we were losing traction on the icy roads. Bridger had to use the warning strip on the side of the road to get traction to keep moving up the hill. What a smart husband I have- I wouldn't have thought of that. We made it to Boise and really enjoyed spending time at home. Most of Bridger's weekend consisted of putting up Christmas lights for his dad and my parents. He had to put them up not once, but twice on my parents house because the lights decided to stop working after it was all done. Splendid! The drive back took 10 1/2 hours and I was hit with the flu part way through the drive. That was a fun day.
The biggest disappointment of Thanksgiving break was Boise State's devastating loss to Nevada in overtime. The team was up by such a big lead, but Nevada came back. We thought we were saved when Boise State made a miraculous play with 2 seconds left to give us a chance for a winning field goal, but sadly the field goal was missed. So it was a tied game and we were headed for over time. The kicker missed his 2nd field goal, Nevada's kicker made their field goal, and that was the end of the game. I honestly wanted to cry, and probably would have if I wasn't surrounded by so many people. #4 Boise State moved to #11 and the National Championship is out of question. And the kicker- poor guy. Can you imagine living with that?
Boise State is such a classy team- they have rallied around their kicker and showed nothing but class about the whole situation. Wish the same could be said about Nevada! Sorry to say but from the stories of friends, news reports and pictures in the newspaper, it seems as though Nevada has a pretty classless fanbase. Vandalizing cars, breaking BSU's flags, taunting players after the game- what a way to celebrate a victory!
I also think it's funny how BSU's 'rivals' the Vandals hate BSU so much, when BSU couldn't care less about them. So many people were relieved' about their loss and some even made facebook groups celebrating their loss. Really? What brings about so much hate? Some have criticized about how BSU has so many band-wagon fans that will finally fall away because of this loss. I think we've seen the opposite- as Bronco Nation has rallied around their team. Of course many were angry and disappointed at first- I was too, my heart sunk when those two kicks were missed- but for the most part I don't know if there is a more loyal fanbase than that of the BSU Football team. Go Broncos. I'll continue to sport my Blue and Orange- because I just can't help but love this football team!
When did I become so obsessed with college football anyway? I have no idea. NFL? Who cares. But I get so excited for the big college football games and I can honestly say I may have watched more than even my husband this year.
BYU lost too. Man that was a bad weekend for my teams.

I'm really excited for Bridger and I's date tomorrow. We've got a full day planned. I don't know the last real big date we went on so you could say it is much needed. IKEA, dinner in Salt Lake City, Temple Square Christmas lights, Festival of Trees- it's bound to be a fun time.
That's all of my randomness for now. Gotta go clean the apartment and get ready to study all night long at the library- what a hoppin' Friday night!
