Disturbing dreams....

So the past several weeks I have been having the most DISTURBING dreams!  Most of them are about babies. I just keep dreaming about babies- ALL THE TIME!  Dreaming of babies themselves isn't the disturbing part, they are very cute and quite precious actually, but I am disturbed that they occupy the majority of my dreams.

The most disturbing part is that I keep dreaming about babies drowning and me saving them.  What in the world?! Is there any kind of explanation for such a thing?

I'm perplexed. And I'm really tired of the panicked feeling I wake up with after saving these babies and such.

Anyways- I'm disturbed, plain and simple.

The Waiting Game...

Today is a big day.

I just returned home from turning in my application to Utah College of Dental Hygiene. Talk about nerve-wracking!  Seriously people.  My future is now out of my hands- it's all up to these folks at the school!  And I'll admit it- I'm scared out of my mind!  I have officially put myself in the position to be rejected in a big way.  But I guess that is what life is all about, eh?  You gotta take risks to get where you want to go.

I was fortunate enough to be given a tour of the school, and it's awesome!  I just began picturing myself walking those halls every day, wearing one of those lab coats that were hanging on the wall, and sitting in the classrooms and clinic.  Sounds so nerdy, huh?  But it's true!

Interviews don't start until November or December, so until then it's just a waiting game-  a long waiting game.  And I'll be hoping for the best the entire time! Now I just need to keep reminding myself that whatever happens, happens.  If by chance I get rejected, my life is not over!  But if I get accepted- oh what a happy day that will be.

Either way, let the waiting game begin!

A Little Case of A.D.D.

This summer it seems I have a case of Attention Deficit Disorder.

Maybe it's because of all the random and sporadic trips I've gone on that makes it hard to come back to reality. Maybe it's because the online class I'm taking makes me bored out of my mind. Maybe because I'm exhausted ALL THE TIME!  No matter the reason, I cannot focus for the life of me.

I have to finish this online class before my beast of a semester comes- and as I look at the calendar and realize it's almost August, I also realize it is coming faster than I ever thought, or would want. But every time I sit down to study for the upcoming mid-term I need to take soon, I either fall asleep, find something else I "need" to do, or just zone out. Its awful!

This is my "HELP ME!" face.

It seriously feels like the more overwhelmed I get with all that is coming up and all I have to do makes me even less productive. Doesn't make any sense- I'm aware of this!

Back to the books I guess... until I find another excuse to preoccupy myself with that is.

Being Spontaneous!

Today I was driving home from observing at a dental office, and called Marci (who I nanny for) to see what was up for this week.  Turns out she doesn't need me this week, because she has lots of family visiting.  I figured this would give me lots of time to work on my online classes and such- until I called my mother.

Back up a few days- on Saturday my parents were here to watch Daniel's last soccer game at BYU, and they just kept telling me to come back with them to go up to our cabin.  I laughed, wished I could, and that was that.  So- when I called my mom to tell her I didn't have to work all week after all and that I could've come with them, this was her response:

"COME!  Dad has a free flight- just come! Fly here tomorrow!"

Riiiiight.  Like I could really just be that spontaneous? Never.  I started thinking of how guilty I would feel to leave Bridger AGAIN all by himself here!  And how we were going to go camping this weekend and he was so excited. And how I really, really need to work on my class.  I couldn't possibly go.  Until I told Bridger about it and he kept telling me to go.

And that was all it took. So- I'm going! Tomorrow morning- 8:00.  I've never been so spontaneous!  It also turns out that Bridger gets Friday and Saturday off of work/school because of the 24th of July- so he is going to drive up there Thursday night and come and play with us too so he can bring me home!

Let the fun begin!

Busy Busy

Wow- where to even start?

I feel like the last several weeks have been a whirlwind! how did it even get to be the middle of July anyway?

Just a quick update (not a lot of fun pictures this time- my picture taking was lame):
Wednesday, July 1st, I flew home to spend 10 days with my family.  Bridger wasn't able to come with me, sadly, but I wanted to take advantage of the time I had off of work.  This may sound cheesy- but I can't explain how much I enjoyed my flight to Boise.  As the plane lifted higher and higher into the sky and finally broke through the cloud, it really was such a beautiful sight.  It made me really think about the beauty of God's creations.  Seriously- the sight was magical. I kept imagining myself bouncing from cloud to cloud, until I was too tired and then could just lay down on them, the perfect giant pillow.  And then I found myself thinking about something quite different- I began thinking about how sorry I was for the people who lived before the invention of the airplane, or those who never have the chance to fly.  To be able to see the earth from such an incredible perspective is something I honestly never get sick of.

This picture is actually from a helicopter ride in Hawaii years ago, but you get the point

Anyway, off of my rant.

Once I got to Boise- it really flew by.  Thursday was spent prepping for Jenny's wedding reception, dinner with my good childhood friend Aubrey Browen, and then enjoying the reception that evening.  We went straight from the wedding reception into the family reunion at my grandparents house.  Saturday I skipped out on a little bit of the reunion to go on the annual Fourth of July Cabarton river raft trip with my friend Ashley and the whole Gowing family.  This was the 4th year that I was able to join them, and it is ALWAYS a blast! Jessica Drzayich joined us this year and I am so happy she did!

After the river run, I returned to the family reunion for dinner and the firework show.  The guys did a really good job on the fireworks! they were awesome- not to mention the cops didn't show up this year, making it so much more enjoyable! I do have a confession though- I just may have teared up a bit watching the beautiful fireworks without Bridger.  I started to really miss my hunny!  It just wasn't quite the same without him!  He did have a good time on the 4th as well though, he was able to spend the day with his mother four-wheeling and boating up in Heber and then attending the Stadium of Fire. I felt a little less guilty being away from him on this fun holiday knowing he was having a good time.

This whole weekend was full of watching Wimbledon too of course.  I was glued!  I've always been a HUGE Andy Roddick fan, even in his struggling years.  He really brought his A-game this year and played so well!  Much to my delight, he made it to the Championship!  Woo hoo! I was so so so excited- and for 4 hours I really believed he was going to win.  Much to my disappointment- he didn't win.  I felt like my heart was ripped in two!  I get so into sports games when a favorite team or person of mine is playing.  And he lost.  He did play out of his mind though- the 5th set went to 16-14.  Anyone who knows tennis knows that is SO MANY GAMES!  It just wasn't ending!  I'm still proud of my boy :)

Tuesday we drove down to Utah to attend the Turnbull family reunion- which was a blast! It was full of swimming, going down Sliding Rock, Turnbull Olympics (my team won!), Talent show (except most people didn't show up to perform), and much more!  I was also so so happy to finally see Bridger after a week of being a part!

Thursday I drove back to Boise with my mom, Dallan, and McKay- and we made a little stop to Lagoon on the way home. It was a lot of fun- but we left with both of the boys being sick.  We don't have much luck with lagoon in my family :)

I spent the rest of the weekend finally relaxing at home, swimming, and just having a good time!  Bridger drove down himself on Friday to help his dad paint the inside of their soon-to-be finished cabin, and we drove back to Provo together on Sunday.  Dallan hitched a ride with us and will be staying with us for a few days while he attends BYU's soccer camp.

Anyway- that's an update! Probably boring to most- but seeing how I'm trying to really document what we're doing in our life for our own sake, I figured I better at least write the jist of what we did!

A Picture Perfect weekend!

We had a very fun-filled trip to Boise this past weekend.  We arrived into town Friday evening and made our first stop at Pete's store to see him and Lindsy.  When we got to my house my mom had the brilliant idea for Bridger and me to take Dallan and McKay to PoJo's.  McKay was very hesitant to go (as I must admit- I was too, I remember going to PoJo's in like 1st grade).  But we finally talked him into going and this is what we ended up doing:

We had SO much fun competing with each other and just having a good time.  We even won some sweet prizes to give to our dad for father's day- a stuffed animal monkey inside a banana and a chinese finger trap- HA! Classic.  We drove home dancing to music, catching stares from the cars next to us. I felt like I was 16 again- it was great!

When we got home we taught my family how to play the dice game Farkle that I learned from my cousin Jessica.  Dallan lost- so here is what his Farkle dance looked like:

side note:  I need to take this opportunity to say that I have a genius brother.  Dallan called today to tell me the happy news that he got a 31 on his ACT.  Woo hoo! Congrats Dallan!  Not only did he get a 31- but he got a 36 on the math section.  A perfect score? I think so! Turns out this is one smart kid!
After Dallan's beautiful and very awkward dance, we watched Tuesday's With Morrie.  It was a good movie! The part I saw anyway- seeing how we didn't start the movie until midnight, I didn't last through the whole thing.

Saturday was BRIDGER'S BIRTHDAY! My love turned 23 over the weekend.  He celebrated with a very early morning game of golf with his dad, cousin Chris and uncle Andy.  After those long 18 holes we went with Pete and Marianne for a late lunch at Red Robin.  After eating we headed to Boondocks (apparently it is now called Wahooz? I refuse to call it that- how ridiculous) and we played mini-golf, hit some baseballs in the batting cages, and raced on the go-karts.  Unfortunately we hadn't remembered our camera- so we don't have any pictures of this fun afternoon/evening with them.  We especially needed a camera to document my victory in miniature golf and my THREE- count them- THREE holes in one!  BOO-YAH!  After Boondocks we were treated to ice-cream at Coldstone.  We had SO much fun and are so grateful to Pete and Marianne for the great time!

We had originally planned to head up to McCall with my family Saturday night- but because of my dad's 3 day golf tournament he was exhausted and we ended up staying in Boise.  But I'm glad we did!  We were able to go to Jessica and Nick's new place and play games with them as well as Ashley and Ben.  I can't explain how much I've missed them- it seems that my best friends all live too far away so I was so happy to see them!  Afterwards we headed back home for some presents and key lime pie! Yum! Happy Birthday to the love of my life!
Sunday afternoon, after we went to church, we headed up to McCall to put the boat in the water for the summer.  We ended up only staying for the afternoon- but it was so worth it.  We had grilled up some hamburgers and had a few relaxing hours up there to celebrate Father's Day. What do you get a man who has absolutely EVERYTHING?  A star-gazing book and a bird-watching book- that's what!  I'm being dead serious though- he is the HARDEST person to shop for.  It's really getting ridiculous.  It was FREEZING up in McCall- as you can tell by the spooky look of the lake!
Gotta love them mountains.  Nothing quite like them! It was a good way to spend Father's Day.  It actually did start with this picture below of bed in breakfast.  Of course- we had to make my dad get back into bed for this, because heaven forbid he sleep in ever! I love my dad SO much and am so grateful for a father like him.  He is one-of-a-kind and I love him to the moon and back! If anyone ever doubts why I love him- just check out the 50 reasons I love my dad that I wrote for him on his birthday.  He is incredible!

Monday we were able to go to lunch with Lindsy and Tyler at Bardenay's to celebrate Bridger's birthday with them- I love being able to see them!  We don't get to see them as much as we'd like but we love it when we do!  Sadly we didn't get a picture then either. The rest of the day was spent getting the yard and house ready for Dallan's soccer BBQ- stuck around for a little bit of the festivities, and then headed back here to Utah!  We were blessed with a beautiful ride home as the sun was setting.  Pictures don't really do it justice- but here some are!

We loved every moment of our trip back home.  In all honesty- it was probably the most enjoyable and fun weekend we've spent back there since moving away!  I can't explain it- it was just perfect!  Can't wait until I get to go back July 1st til July 12th!

An "Ah-Hah!" Moment

So one day I was in my apartment, thinking about school and the future and the like.  Originally I was planning on graduating not this December, but next December- 2010.  I had this brilliant idea....

I figured out that if I take two online classes this summer, then I can graduate this APRIL!!! Oh how happy that made me.  April just seems SO much closer- so much more within my reach!  So that's my plan. Graduate this next April!

But then I had another brilliant idea.  If I can graduate in April, that also means I can apply for Utah College of Dental Hygiene in hopes of starting Fall of 2010.  This way, I can finish my first year of dental hygiene while Bridger finishes his last year of his undergraduate.  Then he can work and do an internship while I finish my last year!  Then- we plan to move to Boise for about a year while he does another internship at St. Lukes- while I work and save lots o' money so we won't be completely poor while Bridger gets his M.H.A.  And then I can work while he does his masters!

Brilliant? I think so... I just hope I can get in now!   Now my summer has gone from super boring to super busy- doing two (hard) online classes and shadowing a dental hygienist so I can get my 50 hours of observation before I apply- along with my part time job.  We'll see what happens!

Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
