Let the summer begin...

I just finished my last final of the semester- Hallelujah!  I'm so burnt out of school by this point and it feels so good to be done, even if it is just for the summer!  I haven't figured out my grades on most of my finals yet, but I think they went pretty well for the most part.  As much as I am excited for the summer, it's going to be very busy!  I'll be working (hopefully a couple jobs), Bridger will be doing summer school and THREE jobs.  His job at the eye doctor, and then he'll be working for his uncle doing sprinkler installations and repairs/landscaping, and then took over some lawn mowing jobs for his friend that will be gone this summer.  Talk about never seeing my husband this summer. Sad. Summers just aren't what they used to be, are they?
This is what I envision my summers being:
Popsicles...

Running through the sprinklers....
Swimming in the pool....
Boating and tubing at the cabin...
I definitely miss the summers of swimming all day pretending to be mermaids, sleeping in, comparing flip flop tan lines, pink cheeks that turn to tan, camping, river rafting. You know- the good stuff!  Oh the joy of growing up!

Exhaustion

Bridger and I just finished our 5 days of watching Brooklyn, Ellie, and Sofie.  We had such a blast- but are exhausted to say the least.  We sure were busy though!  We didn't take pictures of everything, but here is what we did get!

We played...

We walked around like gangsters....
We rode bikes...

We stole bikes from children... and they didn't like it one bit!

We played in the dirt....

We decided to eat the dirt... yum!

We posed for tons of pictures...
I escaped... and had a birthday dinner with my cousins!  Look at them all, they're way too beautiful!  Love them!  Thanks for organizing this Kinz!
We got in our swimsuits and washed my car. Love warm weather!
Classic picture... notice Ellie on the right picking her wedgie. Gotta love the swimsuit wedgies!
We got sprayed by water. There were some tears...
We hid in the car so it wouldn't happen again....
We looked way too cute for our own good!

We warmed up under the sunshine!

The sun sure made us thirsty....
And made us so tired too!  This look just screams, "Please, just let me go to sleep!"

Anyway- despite the few mood swings (it is a house of 3 girls), throwing up in the car (see previous post), and a hose that we left on and flooded the yard (Oops...), it was such a fun time.  They're such cute girls with so much spunk.  I find myself laughing out loud the majority of the time at the things they say.  My personal favorite was how Sofie- who is just learning how to talk, only those that are around her enough really know what she's saying- would say Bridger and Jordan.  She can say Bridger perfectly clear, but my name somehow comes out as Nunnin.  And I LOVE it.  One day while she was in the basement she waddled up the stairs yelling "Nunnin!  Nunnin!  Nunnin!"  When she finally got to the top and saw me, she ran as fast as she could, still yelling "Nunnin, Nunnin!" til she jumped into my lap.  It was a total melt your heart moment for sure!  Made me want to have one of my own for a second!  Note the for a second part.  This babysitting week was definitely enough work to help us realize that we need to soak up the stage of life we're in right now!  I have the best of both worlds- I get to play with darling girls twice a week, and then go home to a quiet, clean place.  Wonderful.

And I thought I didn't like bananas before...

Anyone who knows me well, knows I really don't like fruit.  Unless it is in a smoothie of course! I think bananas top the list of most disgusting fruit ever.  I remember throwing them up one time when I was little- and that was the end of those for me!  However- today just reinforced my disgust with them.

Since Wednesday, Bridger and I have been staying overnight with the kids I nanny for Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We got here Wednesday and leave Sunday.  It's gone pretty well so far, only a few melt downs when we "hurt their feelings".  Today after Ellie had gymnastics we picked Brooklyn up from school.  On our way home, Ellie told me she thought she was going to throw up.  She said it in such a calm way I thought her stomach was just hurting her, so I just told her we'd be home soon in case she needed to throw up.  A minute later I looked back and she had both hands covering her mouth- her face was BRIGHT RED!  And there she blew.  All over.  Three times- and I saw them all in action.  It was disgusting to say the least.  We got home and I got her out of her seat, which was covered too by the way.  I started to take her clothes off so i could put her in the bath- but I immediately started dry heaving.  How do moms do it? I'm being completely serious!  The whole time I was trying to take off her gross clothes I was asking myself how I was going to be a good mom if I can't even clean up their throw up.  Needless to say- and although i'm embarassed to admit it-  Ellie ended up taking her clothes off herself, while I continued dry heaving. :)

Just to give everyone an idea of how gross it was- chunks, CHUNKS of banana were everywhere.  The smell was revolting, and luckily Bridger showed up just in time to save the day.  I don't think I can even look at a banana for awhile now.  I am officially disgusted.

And apparently will be an awful mother!

Birthday Weekend

Last weekend, Bridger and I were able to go home to Boise to spend some time with the fam!  Little did I know (at least for awhile) that the reason he REALLY wanted to go is because he had planned a surprise party for me.  He managed to keep the secret for quite a bit actually!  Until one night, about 1 in the morning, Caitlin text him, I heard it, and long story short, he can't tell a lie if his life depended on it.  When I found out his surprise was blown I couldn't stop laughing- but with all his hard work he didn't think it was very amusing!  We still had my friends over, and some family showed up as well- and it was a great time!  I was FINALLY able to see Karen and Corey's baby Izzy- SO CUTE!  It was so good to see Sammy and Ryder again- they're still the crazy and cute kids they were when I was their nanny.  Oh how i miss them!  Other than the birthday party, we spent the weekend going to breakfast with Bridger's family, watching movies, I went out to lunch with my mom, and then got to go out to lunch Saturday with my dad for our traditional Birthday Lunch!  Bridger was able to go golfing, and meet with the COO of Saint Luke's to talk to him about hospital administration (which went so well! YAY!) On Sunday my mom made the best meal for my birthday dinner- Spicy Shrimp and Chicken Pasta from Johnny Carinos.  SO GOOD!  The weekend went by so fast-  as it always does.  The biggest surprise of the whole weekend (since the party turned out not being a surprise) was the camera my dad gave to me for my birthday.  Talk about a nice camera.  I don't know anything about photography- but I want to learn so bad!  I've felt for a long time that I don't have a certain hobby that I can use as my outlet.  Yes, there are things I love to do, like river raft, go boating, etc.  But I can't just go float down a river every time my homework is stressing me out.  That is a little unrealistic.  So Bridger gave my parents the idea of a camera, and since my dad had recently upgraded his, I was able to have his old Nikon D100.  I LOVE it!  I still don't know how to work it very well- but it will come with time, right?  It was such a great weekend home, and I was SO sad to leave!  But luckily for me, they're coming to Utah tomorrow!  It's the beginning of their spring break, and my mom and I are throwing Sarah a Bridal Shower- so I am lucky enough to see them two weekends in a row!

The only picture I have of the whole weekend!

Marley and Me

So- we went to the dollar movies this past weekend with Daniel and Sarah and saw the movie Marley and Me.  I've heard such mixed reviews- lots of people thought it was ridiculous and lots of people thought it was great.  I must say... I loved it!  I honestly don't know why people didn't.  I left the theater with the worst sore throat though from trying to hold back the tears!  Key word-- trying.  Totally cried.  Anyway- I was a big fan, make fun of me all you want but I am!  We left actually wanting a dog... Like that's gonna happen in a one bedroom apartment.  That's a joke!  Oh well... one day!

Long Weekends

I have to say- I had the enjoyable long weekend!  I can't imagine it being better.  We watched more movies than anyone should watch in one weekend.  Happy Valley, Happy Feet, Cinderella Story (I watched it twice might I add- pathetic i know), Nights in Rodanthe, Cars... I think that's it.  We also played way more rounds of Skipbo than anyone should ever play in one weekend.  I did ZERO homework Saturday, Sunday, and didn't do any homework on Monday til 10:00 at night.  It was wonderful.

Valentines was SO relaxing.  Bridger had to work til early afternoon, and then he took a nap til LATE afternoon- we went to Costa Vida for lunch, and then I shut him up in our room while I made dinner and dessert for the two of us.  We watched Nights in Rodanthe, and everything was just so wonderful.  I have been such a stress case lately- not to mention this winter weather has me in the dumps a lot of the time.  The weekend was much needed for the both of us to just be together, no school, just fun!  Our first Valentines as a married couple was fabulous.  Oh- Bridger did contribute to the day I should add- flowers, chocolates and all.  We've agreed to switch off years of planning Valentines day- because I get just as excited to plan things for him.

Monday I was able to first go to breakfast with Zaundra and Caitlin at Magelbys.  I don't think we've ever ordered anything else but their french toast.  It was so good to see both of them- we all get so caught up with what we're doing and forget that we need some girl time now and then.  We stayed there talking for 3 hours!  Ridiculous!  After that lunch I went to Costa Vida with Emily while she was in town for the weekend.  It was so great to catch up without 30 screaming children running around.  I was happy for her that she was able to escape Ely for not only one weekend- but TWO in a row!  I have felt like since being married, Bridger and I have been trying to split our time at home with both our families, and therefore I really haven't gotten some quality time with Emily for awhile now- so I was happy she was able to squeeze me in to her short stay here! Love you Emily!

Another birthday- Dallan's 17!!

Dallan turned 17 yesterday-

It feels like little brothers should never grow up.  I called Dallan for his birthday, and he was getting in the car, driving to the mall with his girlfriend.  When did Dallan get old enough to drive himself to the mall, and with a girlfriend? It's such a weird feeling!  Little brothers stay little.  It's just how it works.

Dallan is so great- always so happy and most of the time can be found with a smile on his face (unless there is another incident with his driving!! HA! ) But seriously- the kid just always has that smile!  Which means he usually has those asian eyes too :) just kidding- but he has always been called Smilin' Eyes.  I have such great memories with Dallan- most of which involve us dancing together.  In the car, in the house, at the family reunion for our lip sync to Mika's Grace Kelly.  The best was when he busted out some Michael Jackson moves in one of our hotels in Italy this summer and as he did a little spin he ended up tripping and knocking the TV right into the wall.  Almost knocked it to the ground!  That's the Dallan I know and love.  What else about Dallan... we've had some pretty great photo sessions- as seen in the pictures below! Also- he's pretty dang accident prone.  Nobody can argue with that.  I can recall so many occasions where he would spill an entire gallon of milk, and then a whole 2-liter of soda, and then turn around and run right into a tree.  Close his car door right as his cell phone falls off his lap right into the closing door- these things just happen to him.  But then again it's Dallan- and he always manages to have a good attitude about it.  I love you bud- you're the best!

This is my favorite picture of Dallan.
I don't even know what pose he is doing
but it cracks me up every time.

He farted on my hand as this picture was taken

We were actually spinning while we took this

At the lake :)

HAHAHAHA I love this of Dallan!

I like to mess with him while he sleeps...

Love you bud!
